Reliable as always

This was my third purchase from Megear, I got the J1772 to Tesla Adapter this time. As with my previous orders (a Level 1 charger and an extension cable), the adapter arrived quickly and works exactly as described. Their shipping speed has been consistent every time. I appreciate that I don't have to worry about the quality; everything I've received from them has been dependable. It's why I keep coming back when I need EV accessories. Never had an issue with any of their products, which is a good thing for charging gear.

Adapter works well

Needed a Tesla to J1772 Adapter. Ordered it last week. It came in 5 days to reach Denver. Works with my friend's car. Simple to use. No complaints.

Good charger, quick delivery

I bought the Level 2 Portable EV Charger for my J1772 car. It got to me in about 4 days, which was faster than I expected for a bigger item. Plugging it in was straightforward enough, and it's been working fine. I had a small question about the NEMA 14-50 plug type and their support actually replied the same day. It's a solid unit, seems well-built, not flimsy. The cable is a good length too, reaches my car no problem in the driveway. Overall, pretty satisfied with the purchase.

what's the deal with Megear vs. competitors like Grizzl-E? are they pretty similar in quality or is one way better?

W William Robinson 3 days ago
Megear is usually more affordable, but Grizzl-E is known for being super rugged. For indoor use, Megear is totally fine. Outdoor, Grizzl-E might be a bit tougher.

S Sam Martinez 1 day ago
I've used both. Megear is good value for the price, especially if you're not trying to spend a ton. Grizzl-E feels a bit more heavy-duty but also costs more.

hey, was looking at the 40A charging station. how long does shipping usually take to, say, Dallas, Texas?

A Amber K. 4 weeks ago
Mine got to Austin in about 5 days after I ordered, came pretty quick actually. I think they ship from California.

yeah, usually pretty fast. I got my cable in like 4 business days to Houston, no issues.

Anyone know if megear chargers are legit? Like, are they UL listed or anything for safety?

M Michelle Brown 2 weeks ago
i think most of their stuff is, yeah. I remember seeing it on the product page for the one I bought. You should double check the specific model you're looking at though.

My NEMA 14-50 charger had the UL listed sticker on it. Felt pretty safe with it.

Do they ever have big sales for Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Need a 40A charger but waiting for a good deal.

A Amanda Phillips 1 month ago
Oh yeah, totally. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are usually their best sales. I got my 32A charger for a pretty sweet discount then.

Definitely wait for those holiday sales. They usually do site-wide discounts or deeper cuts on certain models during those times.

Thinking about getting one of the portable Level 1 chargers. Can these handle being left outside, or are they more for garage use?

J Jacob Moore 2 weeks ago
They say some of their chargers are weatherproof, but I wouldn't leave a Level 1 portable one outside all the time, especially not in heavy rain. For occasional outdoor use, it's probably okay.

I'd get one of their weatherproof covers if you're gonna use it outside regularly. Better safe than sorry with electronics and weather.

Thinking of getting a Level 2 for my Tesla Model Y. Which Megear one would work best with it? Do I need an adapter or anything?

R Rachel Lopez 1 month ago
They have specific Tesla chargers, but also J1772 chargers with a J1772 to Tesla adapter. Either way works fine. The 32A or 40A would be good for Level 2.

Get one of their Tesla-specific chargers if you can. Less hassle with adapters, although their adapters are pretty solid too.

How's the return policy if I get a charger and it's not quite what I need? Like, if I wanna return it, is it a pain?

N Nick Martinez 1 month ago
Nah, returns were pretty straightforward for me. I had to send back an extension cable and they processed it fairly quickly after they received it.

R Robert Evans 1 month ago
I haven't returned anything personally, but I heard from a friend who did that it was a smooth process. Just make sure you're within the return window.

Any military discount available? My husband is active duty.

J Jason N. 3 weeks ago
I believe they do offer one. I saw it mentioned on their site somewhere, probably in the FAQs or a link in the footer.

Yeah, I'm almost positive they have a military discount. My buddy used one last year.
